Eligibility

  • Open for all unrated players.
  • Open for players with a career rating of 1700 or below for the last three years (from 1st August 2023).
  • Players who finished 1st or 2nd in any rating-restricted tournament are not eligible to play in any restricted tournament for one year from the date of that tournament.
  • The earlier 36-month threshold rule remains applicable — once a player crosses the rating threshold, they cannot participate in the event below that rating level for the next 36 months.

  • Entry fee for all players: ₹1,000/-
  • Free entry for all registered CFPD players.
  • 50% discount for other Divyang (specially-abled) players.
  • No request for entry fee waiver will be entertained.
  • Only paid entries will be accepted — no SMS, WhatsApp, or email entries.
  • Last date of entry: 10 August 2026, 08:00 P.M.

Tournament Rules

  • Tie-Break Order: Buchholz Cut 1 → Buchholz → Sonneborn-Berger → Direct Encounter → Greater number of wins (including forfeit games) → Number of wins with black pieces.
  • In the event of a tie, cash prizes will not be shared.
  • Electronic devices and wrist watches (all types) are strictly banned inside the tournament hall.
  • Players must play all rounds compulsorily to be eligible for prizes.
  • No participant may leave the venue before the prize distribution ceremony without the Chief Arbiter’s permission.
  • If a prize winner is not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony, the prize will not be given to another person under any circumstance.
  • Protest fee: ₹500, to be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of the game’s completion. The fee is refunded if the appeal is upheld.
  • Withdrawals: A player may withdraw at any stage after informing the Chief Arbiter in writing.
  • Prize money will be transferred by online account mode only, within 7 bank working days.
  • The AICF/TNSCA/Pudukkottai DCA/CFPD reserve the right of admission to the venue.
  • All players will receive a participation certificate.
  • Accommodation (unfurnished dormitory-type, classrooms) is available on request.
